SRS Legal advises on the creation of Recaps
SRS Legal has provided legal advice on the creation of Recaps, the first organization in Portugal to establish an integrated system for the collection, transport, treatment and recycling of coffee capsules.
The company was set up with the collaboration of the Coffee Industrial and Commercial Association (AICC) and brings together 14 brands in the Portuguese sector (Bellissimo, Delta Q and Ginga, from Delta Cafés; Torrié, from José Maria Vieira; Chave D’Ouro, Nicola and Segafredo, by Massimo Zanetti; Buondi, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Nespresso, Sical and Starbucks, by Nestlé Portugal; Bogani, by NewCoffee; UCC, by UCC Coffee), who have joined forces to the promotion of environmental sustainability.
“In line with what is already happening in several European countries, the Recaps initiative represents an innovative milestone in the Portuguese business and environmental panorama, by ensuring that used coffee capsules are correctly disposed of and recycled. This effort by the main companies in the sector is the result of a clear commitment to the circular economy and to reducing the ecological footprint”, states the law firm in a press release.
SRS Legal has provided specialized legal advice to both AICC and the founding companies of Recaps, leading all the corporate and compliance aspects necessary for setting up the company. The advisors team was composed of partners Gonçalo Anastácio and Nuno Miguel Prata, and associates Andreia Rodrigues Lopes and Manuel Martinho Lopes Rocha (all pictured from left to right).
