Herbert Smith Freehills becomes AEFI’s new legal partner
The AEFI (Spanish FinTech and InsurTech Association) has announced that it has incorporated Herbert Smith Freehills as a new legal partner. Jaime Bofill, who has been linked to AEFI for years, has been the main driver of the alliance between the association and the law firm, which he recently joined as a new litigation and arbitration partner in the insurance area.

In this way, Herbert Smith Freehills, with more than 5,000 professionals and more than 500 partners distributed in 23 offices around the world, will provide the AEFI with knowledge and experience in the management of complex transactions and cross-border disputes. The firm will work closely with AEFI to support the growth of the FinTech and InsurTech industry in Spain, making it easier to navigate a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.
With more than 100 professionals in its Madrid office, Herbert Smith Freehills has been advising large national and international companies since 2009 on commercial transactions, litigation and cross-border projects.
Jaime Bofill, who has been linked to AEFI for years as one of its main collaborators in the development of different reports and documents and as an advisor in different regulatory processes, such as the Sandbox, and with a long history advising national and foreign insurance companies, has been the main driving force behind the alliance between the association and Herbert Smith Freehills, a firm he recently joined as a new litigation and arbitration partner in the insurance area.
