BDO strengthens its Digital Law Practice with Marina Fontcuberta
BDO Abogados has appointed Marina Fontcuberta as the new Director of the Digital Law practice at its Madrid office. Her role will focus on supporting companies through their digital transformation journey.
Fontcuberta brings extensive experience from her work at international law firms such as Jones Day and Pinsent Masons, where she advised businesses on market entry strategies, digital transformation initiatives, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence to drive innovation. Her expertise spans IT program structuring, data protection and cybersecurity compliance, and cross-border transactions.
Throughout her career, she has worked with both public and private sector clients, guiding national and international companies on implementing innovative technological solutions while ensuring adherence to ever-evolving technology regulations.
Commenting on her new role, Fontcuberta said, “Joining BDO Abogados is an exciting opportunity to continue supporting companies in navigating digital transformation, helping them understand current legislation and prepare for future technological challenges.”
Fontcuberta will be part of the team led by Álvaro Marco, partner of the Legal area at BDO Abogados in Madrid. Her addition strengthens BDO’s commitment to expanding its Digital Law practice, following the 2022 hiring of Albert Castellanos as Director of the same area in Barcelona. The firm now boasts a team of over 15 specialists in Digital Law across its offices in Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia.
In recent years, BDO has also expanded its “Digital & Tech” department, led by Pedro Ríos, by bringing in additional consulting teams. These teams specialize in advanced technologies to deliver tailored solutions to clients, reinforcing BDO’s leadership in digital transformation advisory.
