Fátima Correia da Silva joins Elementis as global compliance head

After 4.5 years at Critical TechWorks, a joint venture between Critical Software and BMW AG, Fátima Correia da Silva is transitioning to Elementis as the global head of compliance. Based in Porto, she will be responsible for overseeing the company’s global compliance program and further embedding the company’s compliance culture under the ethos “Integrity is our Specialty.”

Elementis is a global specialty chemicals company, offering performance-driven additives that support innovative formulations for both consumer and industrial applications. As a major supplier of specialty chemicals, the company serves customers worldwide through two distinct business units: performance specialties and personal care.

About Fátima Correia da Silva

Fátima is a seasoned compliance professional with 17 years of experience across multiple fields, including compliance, anti-money laundering (AML), fraud investigations, and auditing. Her career began with a unique international experience—spanning 9 years in Angola—where she worked with the government on forensic investigations and compliance matters. This global exposure has equipped her with a deep understanding of cross-border compliance and the complexities of diverse regulatory frameworks.

In addition to her new role, Fátima serves as the president of the Portuguese Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and is the eountry representative in Portugal for the Association of Corporate Counsel. Since 2020, Fátima has led the compliance and legal functions at Critical TechWorks, where she served as chief compliance officer (CCO) and general counsel. Her leadership has been pivotal in shaping the compliance landscape of a dynamic and innovative industry—software development.
