Jones Day has announced the appointment of Pablo Doñate, from Andersen, as a partner in the International Litigation and Arbitration practice in the Madrid office.

Pablo Doñate

Mr. Doñate has more than 20 years of experience advising clients in complex civil and commercial litigation, as well as in domestic and international arbitration. Doñate has been involved in some of the largest commercial and criminal-economic litigation in Spain, including cases before the Supreme Court and the Audiencia Nacional, and also in complex arbitrations of all kinds, administered by the main national and international arbitration courts.

The lawyer joins from Andersen where he was a partner in the Litigation and Arbitration department.

Doñate joins a team of more than 200 lawyers located in more than 25 business centers around the world within Jones Day’s global International Litigation and Arbitration practice. This team advises clients in several of the most complex jurisdictions and in some of the most high-profile disputes in those jurisdictions. Pablo’s signing follows the practice’s growth strategy in Europe and is an important addition at a time when clients are facing a variety of risks across the continent.

Pablo Doñate holds an LLM in Corporate Legal Advisory from Instituto de Empresa (IE Law School) and a law degree from ICADE. He has also completed advanced programs in Litigation and Arbitration at IE Law School, and holds a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Procedural Law from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia.

Professor

Doñate has been an associate professor of Procedural Law at Instituto de Empresa (IE Law School) for more than 10 years, and also an associate professor in the Master’s Degree in Access to the Legal Profession at Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE).

“Pablo has spent more than two decades developing a track record of excellence in client service and building a reputation as one of Spain’s leading lawyers in corporate disputes” adds Marta Delgado Echevarría, Managing Partner of Jones Day in Madrid. “It is a great privilege to welcome Pablo to our Madrid team, and I look forward to working with him to serve our clients.”
