White & Case

The firm is in a moment of transition, as the management of the firm was led by Juan Manuel de Remedios, with the help of Yoko Takagi, a partner who has left the firm to become the new Corporate and M&A partner at DLA Piper.

For several years now the firm has been committed to incorporating talent with the idea of becoming a large multidisciplinary firm. Ignacio Paz and Pablo García-Nieto joined in 2023 as M&A partners; José Antonio de la Calle, as partner and head of the competition area. The additions in 2022 of M&A partner Javier Monzón from Freshfields, debt finance partner Jaime Rossi from Herbert Smith Freehills and commercial litigation partner Francisco Málaga from Linklaters, as well as the promotion to partner of M&A lawyer Carlos Daroca in early 2023, are part of this investment in Madrid.

All of these appointments were part of the firm’s investment in Madrid as Oliver Brettle, a member of White & Case’s global Executive Committee, explained at the end of 2023.
