ECIJA Advises Idolo and La Canica Films on “HOTEL BITCOIN”
ECIJA has provided legal counsel to Idolo Films and La Canica Films in the production of the upcoming movie “HOTEL BITCOIN”, set to hit theaters on September 13, 2024. The film tells the gripping story of four friends locked in a hotel for a weekend, tasked with safeguarding a laptop containing 5,000 bitcoins.
The firm played a pivotal role in the legal aspects of the production, advising the filmmakers on matters related to audiovisual production. This included guidance on the contracting of technical and artistic personnel, as well as assisting with the application process for the general project funding from the Spanish Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts.
The project was spearheaded by ECIJA’s Media team, led by Elena Ordúñez Martín, partner at Madrid’s office, alongside senior attorneys Alejandro Díaz Sánchez and José Ignacio Gómez Santano, also from the Madrid office. Their expertise ensured the smooth legal navigation of this unique and highly anticipated project.
