Hogan Lovells advises on ACON Investments acquisition of Rymel

A multi-jurisdictional team from Hogan Lovells has advised ACON Investments, a private equity investment firm based in Washington, D.C., on the acquisition of a majority stake in Rymel, one of the largest manufacturers of transformers for electricity distribution in Colombia.

This is ACON’s 42nd transaction in Latin America, where it is currently deploying its fifth fund.

This multi-million dollar transaction, which involved cross-border collaboration between the United States and Spain, was advised by Private Equity partner Graciela Llaneza from Madrid, and US partners Robert A. Welp from Northern Virginia and David Winter from Washington.
