Eversheds Sutherland adds Sonia de Zunzunegui as general manager

Eversheds Sutherland has appointed Sonia de Zunzunegui, until now managing director of Squire Patton Boggs, as the new managing director of its Spanish office.

With more than 20 years of experience in the field of law firm management, Zunzunegui specialises in growth strategies and business model optimisation, knowledge and team management, and implementation of communication and marketing strategies.

With a degree in Communication from the University of Navarra (1993), and a Higher Course in Leadership (2016), at Squire Patton Boggs she has been responsible for the management of the Madrid office.

She is also a regular contributor to various business schools, such as UEM and ISDE. Previously, Zunzunegui held the position of Business Development Director at Grey Communications International.

Towards a professionalised and institutionalised structure

With the incorporation of Zunzunegui, Eversheds Sutherland aims to continue on the path of consolidation towards a professionalised and institutionalised structure, providing the organisation with excellence and maximum efficiency in management. The firm already has 20 partners, nearly 100 lawyers and 140 professionals in Spain.

The managing partner of the firm in Spain, Jacobo Martínez, assures that ‘the incorporation of Sonia, with her proven and extensive experience in law firm management, will give even greater strength to the firm’s project in Spain’.
