Clifford Chance and A&O Shearman advise on the $100m financing of electricity infrastructures of Celeo in Chile

Clifford Chance and A&O Shearman have advised on the financing of $100million provided by the German export and jokect finance specialist KfW IPEX-Bank for the investment in four energy transmission projects in Chile. The borrower is a Chilean subsidiary of the Madrid-based company Celeo, and the financing relates to the transmission lines Nueva Nirivilo-Constitución and Don Goyo-La Ruca as well as to the transmission equipment projects Nuevo Equipo de Compensación Reactiva and Substation El Ruil.

The underlying projects will increase the capacity and stability of the Chilean transmission line grid to conduct the increasing load of renewable energy.

Clifford Chance team was led by Global Financial Markets partner Eugenio Fernández-Rico, supported by associates María González and Sofía Riaño. Chilean law firm Carey advised in relation to the Chilean law aspects of the transaction.

A&O Shearman has advised Celeo with partner Vanessa Cuellas, senior associate Núria Ferré and associate Natalia Ojeda.
