EY and GA_P advise on Indra’s acquisition of Deimos

Indra has signed an agreement with Elecnor for the acquisition of Deimos, a Spanish space company specialized in the development of space missions and satellite integration, which has subsidiaries in the United Kingdom and several European Union countries.

This deal represents a significant step in Indra’s space strategy, complementing other recent developments, including the approval of the spin-off of Indra Espacio and the creation of NewCo de Espacio, and the integration of the Startical initiative into its portfolio.

With the transaction, Indra will strengthen its capabilities in all phases of a space mission. Deimos will bring key capabilities in the integration of satellites and flight critical subsystems. This acquisition will also enhance Indra’s capabilities in the ground segment, especially in mission and control software, and in space surveillance and tracking.

In addition, Deimos has a strong position with space institutions, participating in national and European programs and initiatives, which will strengthen Indra’s position in the space sector. The transaction is expected to be completed in the last quarter of the year, once the usual regulatory approvals have been obtained.

Both EY Abogados and GA_P have advised Indra on the transaction:

The EY Abogados team consisted of Adolfo Becerril (partner), Victor Garcia (partner), Antonio Gancedo (senior manager), Manuel Paz (partner), José Manuel Gutiérrez (senior manager), Susana Gomez (partner), Rosa Cañas (corporate M&A director), Raul Garcia (partner) and Nicolas Chacon (lawyer).

The Gómez-Acebo & Pombo team was formed by Guillermo Guerra, Irene Carreño Álvarez, Patricia Pérez and Emiliano Moreno, partner and associates of the corporate department.
