WLW launches subcommittee on Biogas, Hydrogen, and E-fuels

Women in a Legal World (WLW), a non-profit organization founded in Spain comprising women professionals from the legal sector, has inaugurated its first Subcommittee dedicated to Biogas, Hydrogen, and E-fuels within its Energy Commission. This initiative is spearheaded by Clara Alcaraz, Partner of Regulatory, Administrative, and Competition at KPMG Abogados, and Alicia Juristo, Head of Legal at Enagás Renovable.

The subcommittee aims to raise awareness about the existence and benefits of renewable gases and alternative fuels, alongside the current regulatory landscape and the opportunities these sectors present. The launch event took place on Monday at KPMG’s Madrid headquarters, featuring a roundtable discussion titled “Renewable Gases: New Regulations, Challenges, and Opportunities.” The session was introduced by Luis Mingo, Partner of M&A and Head of Energy at KPMG Abogados, and Ana Belén Martínez Enguídanos, representing WLW as a board member.

Alicia Juristo expressed enthusiasm about this new venture, stating, “We are very excited about the creation of the first Subcommittee within WLW’s Energy Commission, specifically dedicated to Biogas, Renewable Hydrogen, and E-fuels. We appreciate the support from our collaborators and trust that this joint effort will significantly contribute to the advancement and acceptance of these innovative technologies.”

The launch event’s roundtable included notable speakers such as Milagros Avedillo, Deputy Director of Natural Gas at the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC); Maribel Rodríguez Olmo, Director of Hydrogen Business Development at Repsol; Luis Iglesias, Director of Operations and Business Development for Hydrogen at Enagás Renovable; and Jose Luis Gil, General Director of Renewable Gases at Naturgy.
