Herbert Smith Freehills incorporates Jaime Bofill as a new insurance partner
Herbert Smith Freehills has added Jaime Bofill as a new partner in the litigation and arbitration practice in Spain, to join the Insurance practice, led by Alejandra Galdos. Bofill, until now managing partner of the Insurance, Reinsurance and Innovation department at CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo, joins the international firm together with a team of three associates: Jorge Etreros, Guillermo Ruiz Barrilero and Sara Piñero, also from CMS.

Jaime Bofill
The new partner of the office, led by Eduardo Soler Tappa, is a specialist in corporate and regulatory matters for insurance and financial institutions, retail banking, payment services and emerging areas such as Fintech and Insurtech. In the exercise of his regulatory practice, Bofill has intervened on numerous occasions before the Directorate General of Insurance and Pension Funds, as well as before the Bank of Spain and the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) in relation to all types of licenses, innovative aspects such as PSD2 and the creation of sandbox projects.
In addition, throughout his career he has advised on a multitude of corporate transactions (including mergers and acquisitions, development of joint ventures and business reorganizations in the insurance sector, portfolio transfers, and insurance and reinsurance policy coverage) and distribution schemes within the insurance sector, as well as on corporate and regulatory aspects of the financial services market.
Strengthening the insurance area
