Clifford Chance advises Santander’s €225M Green Loan to Zunder

Clifford Chance has advised Banco Santander as the lead coordinator and sustainability coordinator for a €225 million green loan to Zunder, a leading operator of ultra-fast vehicle charging stations in Spain and France.

The financing aims to support Zunder’s expansion plan across Europe, deploying over 3,000 charging points, with a special focus on Spain, France, Portugal, and Italy, and to bolster its presence in other European countries where new charging stations are planned.

This marks a significant milestone in the electric mobility sector, both within Spain and internationally, as one of the largest financings in this sector in Europe.

The team was led by Global Financial Markets partner Eugenio Fernández-Rico (pictured), alongside associate María Vispo, with support from associate Irene Hernández.
