CMS promotes Elena Alcázar and Juan Moreno to Partners

The board of partners at CMS Albiñana & Suárez has approved the promotion of Elena Alcázar and Juan Moreno to partners. Alcázar, previously counsel in the Corporate & M&A area, and Moreno, counsel in Public Law and Regulated Sectors, bring significant expertise to their new roles.

With over 12 years of experience in corporate advisory services to national and international companies, Alcázar specializes in renewable energy, automotive, and industrial sectors. She is skilled in drafting and negotiating contracts for M&A operations and advising on corporate governance issues for international companies operating in Spain. Recently, Alcázar has advised major investment funds and asset managers such as CEE, Aquila, Encavis, and Luxcara on renewable energy projects in Spain. She also advised Nordex on forming a joint venture with Acciona for green hydrogen projects and assisted the German chemical multinational Wacker in acquiring the Spanish company ADL Biopharma. Regularly advising high-end vehicle OEMs and importers in Spain, Alcázar joined CMS in 2012, is a member of the firm’s German Desk, and collaborates with the German Chamber of Commerce in Spain

Joining CMS Albiñana & Suárez in 2022, Moreno has over 10 years of experience advising large national and international companies on complex regulatory matters. He specializes in transactional work, assisting international investment funds and private equity in M&A operations in regulated sectors such as energy, telecommunications, infrastructure, and pharmaceuticals. Moreno recently coordinated the authorization process for the Hungarian state’s investment in the Spanish listed company Talgo, a potential precedent for future state and sovereign fund investments in Spain. He led Iberdrola’s entry into the Spanish data center market and advised Brookfield on selling 50% of the Spanish renewables company X-Elio. Moreno has extensive experience in advisory, contentious, and public procurement matters, advising major IBEX companies like Iberdrola, Redeia, Enagás, Acciona, Amadeus, Repsol, and Telefónica. Recognized as a Rising Star by Legal 500, he is praised for his market foresight and creative client solutions.
