Morais Leitão’s Filipe Vaz Pinto elected to ICC

Morais Leitão announced on its social media that Filipe Vaz Pinto (pictured), head of the Arbitration practice and partner at the firm, has been elected as an International Court of Arbitration (ICC) member for a three-year term. “I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to working with so many colleagues and friends to contribute to the global business community, upholding the principles of justice and fairness in international arbitration”, wrote Vaz Pinto on his Linkedin account.

What is the ICC

The International Court of Arbitration is an institution for the resolution of international commercial disputes. It operates under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce and consists of more than 100 arbitrators from roughly 90 countries.

Filipe Vaz Pinto

Filipe Vaz Pinto has been collaborating with Morais Leitão since 2002 and became a partner in 2014. He is the co-coordinator of the litigation and arbitration department and a member of the firm’s board of directors. Vaz Pinto is also a member of the board of directors of the Portuguese Arbitration Association, the ICC Arbitration Commission, and the Executive Committee of the Portuguese ICC Committee. In the past he was vice-president of the Commercial Arbitration Centre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 2015, Vaz Pinto received the “40 under Forty Awards” from Iberian Lawyer Magazine.
