Enagás’ legal department uses Harvey

Enagas’ legal and compliance department has implemented the generative artificial intelligence tool Harvey. “This specialized generative AI tool for the legal department is being an agent of change in our digital transformation process and is making our work much easier,” said Sofia de las Cuevas, director of legal and compliance at Enagás exclusively for Iberian Lawyer.

After several weeks using the tool, Sofia de las Cuevas, Enagás’ legal and compliance director, says that they use the platform to analyze and compare documents, contracts and regulations. They also use it to find alternative wording for clauses and documents, translate texts with great precision in legal language or summarize documentation quickly.

“In short, it allows us to complement and enhance our team’s ability to respond to legal queries. Obviously, we lawyers are ultimately responsible for reviewing and validating Harvey’s proposals and deciding how to apply the results obtained, always with the necessary caution to avoid the dreaded hallucinations,” says the legal and compliance director.

The legal department is “very surprised” by the ease with which this tool is able to understand prompts and provide accurate answers.
