Albuquerque & Almeida advises Crest Capital Partners on the €42.5m sale of Grupo GFE

Albuquerque & Almeida has advised Crest Capital Partners, a Portuguese private equity management company, in the sale process of Grupo GFE to Halma Plc, in a transaction valued at 42.5 million euros. Halma Plc, a publicly traded company listed on the FTSE 100 index, is present in more than 20 countries. Grupo GFE is a European manufacturer of fire detection and emergency lighting systems headquartered in Faro.

According to Albuquerque partner André Matias de Almeida, the operation was particularly challenging given the various jurisdictions involved, due to the international nature of Grupo GFE and to the fact that the acquirer is a publicly traded company.

The Albuquerque team involved in the operation was led by partner André Matias de Almeida and senior associate Miguel Almeida Simões. The operation also benefited from the advice of partners João Salvador, Henrique Nogueira Nunes, and Ivan Roque Duarte in the areas of labor, tax, and real estate and urban planning, respectively, and lawyers Igor Amarii, Manuel Bruschy Martins, and Mariana Castro Pereira.
