LEGALCOMMUNITY WEEK 2024: DAY 4
From 10 to 16 June, the eighth edition of Legalcommunity Week, an event dedicated to the Italian and international legal community, will take place in Milan. This year, there will be more than twenty opportunities for discussion hosted by the Hotel Principe di Savoia, in Piazza della Repubblica. These will include conferences, round tables and keynote speeches on topics of interest to lawyers and the business world.
Furthermore, Legalcommunity Week also provides opportunities for leisure and social interaction. Institutional events will be accompanied by receptions, sporting activities and a musical competition featuring bands comprising lawyers and other members of the business community. The Legalcommunity Corporate Awards, a gala evening dedicated to the most outstanding business lawyers and law firms of the year, will also be held.

DAY FOUR – 13 JUNE 2024
Last day of meetings at the Principe di Savoia for this Legalcommunity Week 2024.
The morning was dedicated to two conferences. The first, focused on new trends in m&a, was introduced by Federico Vermicelli, partner at BonelliErede, and was divided into three panel discussions. The first, moderated by Letizia Ceriani, Financecommunity journalist, was devoted to the relationship between private equity and capital markets, with special emphasis on add-ons and delisting: it featured Paolo Cavaiani, vice president of L Catterton; Elena Guizzetti, managing associate of BonelliErede; Michele Marocchino, managing director of Lazrd; Francesca Peruzzi, managing associate of BonelliErede; and Martina Peterlini, junior partner of Nextalia sgr.
After a coffee break, two other moments of discussion took place under the moderation of Giuseppe Salemme, Legalcommunity journalist. First, a focus on foreign investments by Italian companies, in which BonelliErede’s Guizzetti and Peruzzi joined the voices of Edoardo Disetti, legal director and head of m&a and corporate transactions at Msc Mediterranean Shipping Company; Fabio Fazzari, financial director at Newlat Food; Pietro Macchiarella, group m&a and business development at Illva Saronno Holding; and André Vertullo Bernini, partner at Pinheiro Neto Advogados.
Closing the morning was a three-way dialogue between Antonio Corda, legal affairs, external affairs & corporate communication director of Vodafone Italia; Isabel Fernandes, group legal counsel of Grupo Visabeira; and Pasquale Leone, managing associate of BonelliErede; introduced by a brief speech by Francesco Anglani, partner of BonelliErede.
The second conference of the morning was instead dedicated to what has been called the “golden age” of pharmaceutical innovation, and was introduced by Laura Orlando, Italy managing partner, joint global head of intellectual property Emea and co-head of life sciences at Herbert Smith Freehills; and Elena Paola Lanati, ceo of Indicon and vice president of Iab – Italian Angels for Biotech. The first panel discussion of the conference was dedicated to early stage investments, and moderated by Ilaria Iaquinta, editor-in-chief of Iberian Lawyer and The Latin American Lawyer. It featured Francesco Cerruti, general director of Italian Tech Alliance; Giovanni Rizzo, partner biotech fund of Indaco Venture Partners; Augusto Santoro, partner and head of the Italian corporate practice of Herbert Smith Freehills; and Federica Tadini, general manager of G-Factor – Fondazione Golinelli.
The second panel discussion, again moderated by Ilaria Iaquinta, featured Enrica Dogali, group chief legal and compliance officer at Angelini Industries; David Ingrassia, head of group corporate governance at Zambon; Fausto Massimio, legal, compliance & governance head at Roche Italia; and Alan Montgomery, partner, co-head pharmaceuticals, co-head of India practice at Herbert Smith Freehills.
