LEGALCOMMUNITY WEEK 2024: DAY 3
From 10 to 16 June, the eighth edition of Legalcommunity Week, an event dedicated to the Italian and international legal community, will take place in Milan. This year, there will be more than twenty opportunities for discussion hosted by the Hotel Principe di Savoia, in Piazza della Repubblica. These will include conferences, round tables and keynote speeches on topics of interest to lawyers and the business world.
Furthermore, Legalcommunity Week also provides opportunities for leisure and social interaction. Institutional events will be accompanied by receptions, sporting activities and a musical competition featuring bands comprising lawyers and other members of the business community. The Legalcommunity Corporate Awards, a gala evening dedicated to the most outstanding business lawyers and law firms of the year, will also be held.

DAY THREE – 12 JUNE 2024
This year’s rainy Milanese summer at least graced the more sporty Legalcommunity Week guests, who this morning took part in the Run The Law, a 6km non-competitive run along the Naviglio Grande, which this year saw XXX participants. Non-competitive of course, but why not give due recognition to the fastest? Among men, the fastest was Lorenzo Valota of CastaldiPartners, followed by Christoph Ramler of Unicredit and Emanuele Pomini of Nardi e Roncelli. Among the women, Marina De Cesare of Masciello Nannoni prevailed, followed by Silvia Comelli of Cc Legal and Emma Spiga of Kryalos sgr.
Although the alarm clock rang earlier than usual for the many participants involved in the Run, the Week’s morning conference started on time at the Principe di Savoia Hotel. Introduced by Aigi General Council member Giovanni Cerutti, it was devoted to the topic of dispute resolution ‘in a tech-driven world’.
The first session was attended by Alessandra Bini, senior counsel and trust & compliance officer Europe of Ibm and Aigi manager for Lombardy and Liguria; David Bloch, shareholder of Greenberg Traurig; Rosy Cinefra, vice president and head of legal & compliance of Ntt Data Italia and president of the Aigi Board of Auditors; Ilario Giangrossi, partner of Grimaldi Alliance; and Marcello Marinari, former judge and ombudsman
The second panel, moderated by Giuseppe De Palo, founder and president of Dialogue Through Conflict Foundation and arbitrator and mediator of Jams, was composed of Laura Furnaletto, senior contract negotiator at Maire; Pietro Galizzi, head of legal, regulatory & compliance affairs at Eni Plenitude; Christine Kang, partner and co-chair of the China practice of Hughes Hubbard & Reed; Ralf Lindback, managing counsel dispute, insurance and trade management at Marine Wartsila; and Francesco Sciaudone of Grimaldi Alliance.
Partly at the same time, at 11am, a panel dedicated to the so-called ‘post-m&a complexities’, i.e. the problems that can arise after the finalisation of mergers or acquisitions. Silvia Baroffio, principal at Accuracy; Simone Davini, head of legal & corporate affairs at Crédit Agricole Cib Italy; Giovanni Foti, partner at Accuracy; Raffaele Legnani, managing director and head of Hig’s Milan office; Stefano Modenesi, partner at Dla Piper; and Benedetta Volpi, general counsel at Nextalia sgr. Letizia Ceriani, Financecommunity journalist, will moderate.
In the afternoon, CastaldiPartners founder Enrico Castaldi set the pace for a debate on the relationship between fashion and sustainability animated by the following speakers: Paola Arosio, head of new brands and sustainability projects of Camera nazionale della moda italiana; Nicolas Burgener, secretary general board affairs & chief governance officer of Audemars Piguet (Marketing); Fabrizio Caretta, group general counsel of Dolce & Gabbana; Luca Chiama, legal director of Prada Group; Anne-Manuelle Gaillet, partner of CastaldiPartners; Sergio Marini, ethics & compliance director of Lvmh; Alessia Oddone, partner of CastaldiPartners; Claudia Ricchetti, general counsel and board secretary of Ferragamo; Aurélie Souet, deputy general counsel of Christian Louboutin.
At the same time, a round table on new trends in real estate investments with Luca Di Nunzio, partner of Andpartners; Matteo Minardi, head of real estate Italy & managing director of Ardian; Roberto Schiavelli, general counsel of Dea Capital Real Estate sgr; Igar Rizzetto, manager financial institutions structured credit of Banca Finint; and Davide Cattarin, managing director of Cbre Valuation.

The relationship between crime and artificial intelligence was analysed in the round table moderated by Michela Cannovale, journalist for Inhousecommunity, which hosted the contributions of Maurizio Bortolotto, founding partner of Gebbia Bortolotto penalisti associati; Sara Citterio, group general counsel of Trussardi; Lorenzo Maria Di Vecchio, general counsel Emea of Christian Dior Couture; Giorgio Martellino, general counsel & compliance officer of Avio; and Claudia Ricchetti, general counsel and board secretary of Ferragamo.
A panel moderated by Eleonora Fraschini, journalist for Financecommunity, shed light on the opportunities offered by capital markets for small and medium-sized Italian companies, thanks to the speeches by Stefano Bellavita, executive chairman & managing partner of Alantra Italy; Marzio Ciani, senior counsel at Legance; Andrea Costantini, managing partner and chairman of Smart Capital; Federico Girotto, CEO of Masi Agricola; Barbara Lunghi, head of primary markets Italy at Borsa Italiana; and Diego Selva, head of investment banking at Banca Mediolanum.
