The ICAM kicks off its 2nd Congress on Health Law
This Thursday and Friday, the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM) will host the 2nd Healthcare Law Congress, bringing together over 50 legal and healthcare experts to tackle pressing issues at the intersection of law and healthcare amidst staffing shortages in the sector.
Representatives from various Madrid universities, as well as the Medical and Nursing Colleges of Madrid, scientific societies, and the Madrid Health Department, will propose solutions to public healthcare challenges.
Over two days and nine sessions, topics such as preventing adverse events in healthcare, the impact of climate change on public health, aging population and elder protection, mortuary law, the role of artificial intelligence in healthcare, and the issue of fake doctors will be discussed.
Deans from the Law faculties of Complutense University of Madrid, Autonomous University, and Rey Juan Carlos University will participate, along with the Dean of the Madrid Bar Association and presidents of the Medical and Nursing Colleges of Madrid, and the General Secretary of the Pharmaceutical College of Madrid.
Organized by the Healthcare Law section of the Madrid Bar Association, led by lawyer Esperanza Marcos, the Congress will conclude on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with the presentation of conclusions by the section’s president and advisory council. Following this, the Deputy Mayor of Madrid, Inmaculada Sanz, and the Deputy Director General of Humanization, Bioethics, and Patient Information and Care from the Madrid Health Department, Ángeles Gómez, will close the event alongside the Madrid Bar Association’s Training Director, Ester Mocholí.
