Garrigues Advises Go Energy on its projects in Spain

Multinational Go Energy Group, led by Spanish entrepreneur Curro Nicolau, has received favorable urban compatibility reports for the construction of two hydrogen plants in Gibraleón and San Juan del Puerto, Huelva. This approval marks a significant milestone in a project that began two years ago in Spain.

In addition to the projects in Huelva, Go Energy Group is expanding its investments to Japan and the United States, focusing on hydrogen and green ammonia plants. The firm is supported by international law firms like Garrigues and Baker Botts and maintains offices in Tokyo and Houston, reflecting its commitment to global growth in renewable energy.

The group has been advised by the Valencia office of Garrigues, led by partner José Segarra, on legal and administrative matters to ensure contracts and viability reports comply with current regulations.

Nicolau emphasized the importance of hydrogen legislation in Japan and the European Union, which encourages investment in sustainable technologies. “It is essential that Spain quickly implements this legislation to provide legal certainty for investors,” he concluded.
