Dávalos Abogados Formalizes Secondment with Cuban Lawyers
Dávalos Abogados, a boutique law firm specializing in foreign investments in Cuba, has entered into a groundbreaking secondment agreement with the Bufete de Servicios Especializados (BES) and the Organización Nacional de Bufetes Colectivos (ONBC) of Cuba. This is the first international internship program established by a Spanish law firm with a Cuban counterpart.
The agreement aims to invest in the education and professional development of young Cuban lawyers, particularly in international business law. This initiative marks a significant step in international collaboration between the Spanish and Cuban legal professions.
As part of this collaboration, Dávalos Abogados has welcomed two young Cuban lawyers, Claudia Girón González and Erick Machado Cerver, from BES in Havana to its Madrid office. Their role will involve advising Spanish and international companies on Cuban regulations and gaining practical experience in an international setting.
Lourdes Dávalos León, Managing Partner of Dávalos Abogados, expressed her satisfaction: “We are proud to be the first Spanish firm to sign a secondment agreement with a Cuban firm. This opportunity for young Cuban professionals highlights our commitment to supporting legal practice excellence in Cuba.”
