Linklaters advises on Iberdrola’s sucessful action in the Spanish Supreme Court

Linklaters have advised Iberdrola in obtaining various rulings from the Spanish Supreme Court ordering the government to pay compensation of over €300 million for various undue payments by the Iberdrola group, related with the social tariff on energy in Spain and which, according to Spain’s highest court, infringed EU law.

The latest ruling was received and adds €200 million to the first compensation payment (already awarded in April 2023) of €102.8 million.

Managing partner José Giménez Cervantes, supported by senior associate Mario García García, was in charge of the advisory services.
