Eversheds Sutherland Welcomes Ana María Ordóñez
Eversheds Sutherland strengthens its Arbitration practice in Latin America with the addition of Ana María Ordóñez, a Colombian attorney specializing in commercial and investment arbitration, as the new of counsel at the firm’s Spanish office.
Having served as the Director of International Legal Defense for the National Agency of Legal Defense of the State of Colombia (ANDJE) for the past seven years, Ordóñez brings extensive experience in representing and defending Colombia in commercial and investment arbitrations. She has led her country’s defense in numerous arbitrations under the rules of the ICSID Convention, UNCITRAL, ICC, the Inter-American Human Rights System, and the International Criminal Court. Additionally, she led negotiations with investors during the mandatory negotiation period and was part of the Colombian delegation participating in Working Group 3 of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law.
With Ana María Ordóñez’s collaboration, the law firm significantly enhances its commercial and investment arbitration practice in Latin America. This is achieved through a team of experts comprising both Latin American and Spanish lawyers, all coordinated and directed from the Spanish office.
Antonio Bravo, the partner responsible for international arbitration in Spain, highlights that “Ana María’s collaboration reinforces the Latin American focus of our International Arbitration practice, where we already advise significant sovereign states and local companies. It allows us to offer our clients the experience and knowledge of an expert team in dispute resolution in Latin America.”
Eversheds Sutherland’s Arbitration practice specializes in all types of commercial and investment arbitrations handled before the world’s leading Arbitration Courts, primarily in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, Oil & Gas, construction, and financial services.
