Clifford Chance appoints three new counsels in Spain

Clifford Chance has announced the promotion, effective 1 May, to counsel of Miguel Barredo, Adrián Crespo and Eduardo Sánchez, experts in Corporate / M&A, Litigation and Intellectual Property and Project Finance, respectively. In total, Clifford Chance has appointed 4 senior counsels and 19 counsels across Continental Europe.

Miguel Barredo

Miguel Barredo has been a lawyer in the firm’s Corporate / M&A practice since 2013. He specialises in advising on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions in the financial sector (banks, insurers and other regulated financial institutions) and on banking and insurance regulatory matters. In particular, Miguel is playing a key role in the development of the firm’s insurance practice in Spain from both a transactional (M&A, insurance portfolio disposals, insurance and reinsurance contracts, etc.) and regulatory perspective. He holds a law degree from the University of Santiago de Compostela and an LL.M. in Corporate Legal Consultancy from IE Law School.

Adrián Crespo

Adrián Crespo has been a lawyer in the firm’s Litigation and Intellectual Property practice in Barcelona since 2011. Adrián specialises in complex IP and unfair competition litigation, especially in the field of pharmaceutical and biotech patents, having been involved in several landmark patent cases in Spain. He also represents clients in commercial litigation, has experience in advertising law and is a member of the Board of Appeal of the Community Plant Variety Office. He holds a degree in Law and Political Science from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and has postgraduate studies in commercial and corporate law in Spain and the Netherlands, as well as an LL.M from the Centre d’Études Internationales de la Propriété Intellectuelle in Strasbourg.

Eduardo Sánchez

Eduardo Sánchez has been a lawyer in the firm’s Project Finance practice since 2014. He specialises in project finance in the energy and infrastructure sectors, including the drafting and negotiation of construction, operation and maintenance, power purchase and sale and supply contracts related to projects in Spain and Latin America. He holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master’s degree in International Trade from ICEX-CECO, as well as an LL.M. in Law from IE Law School. He is an associate professor at IE Law School and at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
