ICAM Launches the First Mental Health Survey

The Illustrious Bar Association of Madrid (ICAM) and the ICAM’s Cortina Foundation are taking a significant step towards the mental health care of its members by launching the first Mental Health Survey aimed at all Madrid members of the Bar Association. Developed in collaboration with psychology, social work, and medical associations, this survey aims to understand the overall well-being (mental, psychosocial, emotional, and physical) experienced by legal professionals, the impact of their work on their mental health, and the most pressing issues faced by the legal profession in achieving emotional well-being.

The goal of this survey is to identify the main needs of the legal profession and develop initiatives from ICAM to promote their well-being and mental health. This initiative is part of the ICAM Well-being Project, which seeks to improve the quality of life and emotional balance of its members. With the active participation of all Madrid members, a comprehensive understanding of the current situation is expected to be gained, enabling effective measures to support the mental health of legal professionals.

The survey will address key topics such as work-related stress, work-life balance, prevention of professional burnout, and access to psychological support resources. By better understanding the needs and challenges faced by lawyers, ICAM will be able to design specific programs and services that meet the demands of its members and promote a healthier and more sustainable work environment.

This initiative is expected to benefit not only individual lawyers but also contribute to the building of a more empathetic and supportive organizational culture within the legal profession. By focusing on mental health, ICAM demonstrates its commitment to the comprehensive well-being of its members and its determination to proactively address the challenges facing the legal profession today.
