Javier Peñalver joins PwC Tax & Legal
PwC Tax & Legal has announced the addition of Javier Peñalver to its team. Peñalver, who joins as a partner in the M&A and regulatory areas, brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise garnered during his tenure as the Technical Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy.
A seasoned legal professional, Peñalver holds the prestigious position of Abogado del Estado (State Attorney). Hailing from Cartagena, he earned his degrees in Law and Business Administration and Management (E-3) from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE). Since 2017, he has served as a member of the Corps of State Attorneys.
Peñalver’s legal journey has seen him handle diverse and complex legal matters. He previously served as the State Attorney in Murcia, representing the government before the High Court of Justice of Murcia. Later, he assumed the role of Chief State Attorney in Alicante from 2019 to 2022. In this capacity, he not only provided legal counsel but also held a position as a board member of the Port Authority, offering invaluable insights into regulatory affairs. Concurrently, he lectured at the Master’s in Access to the Legal Profession program.
In 2022, Peñalver was appointed as the Technical Secretary General of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, a testament to his exceptional legal acumen and leadership skills. Prior to this, he served in the Department of International Arbitration of the Attorney General’s Office, providing legal counsel to the National Mint and Stamp Factory.
