Linklaters appoints three new counsels
Linklaters has appointed Elena Rodríguez (corporate/M&A), Javier Hernández (banking) and Jorge Toral (public and regulated sectors) as new counsels in Madrid.
Elena Rodríguez
Elena Rodríguez’s main area of practice is commercial law, advising a wide range of national and international clients, including private equity funds and other financial investors. She has participated in many M&A transactions, joint ventures and restructurings, both locally and internationally, in different sectors such as energy, infrastructure, financial institutions, retail or telecommunications. He also has extensive experience in general corporate and commercial legal advice and in the design and implementation of incentive plans.
Javier Hernández
Javier Hernández specialises in structured financings. He advises on a recurring basis on complex and innovative transactions involving energy and infrastructure assets, including both the financing of the development and construction of these projects and their acquisition. He has also been involved in numerous private equity, real estate and debt restructuring transactions. Javier provides advice to both sponsors and financing entities in these types of transactions
Jorge Toral
Jorge Toral is an expert in public law and regulated sectors. He combines regulatory and litigation advice in sectors such as energy and telecommunications, among others, with a transactional and commercial profile, through his involvement in transactions involving regulated assets together with the M&A, capital markets and project finance teams. His specialisation also includes the negotiation of commercial contracts and construction and operation of projects (EPC, PPA, hydrogen infrastructures, etc.), both in Spain and in other jurisdictions, as well as advising on foreign investment control and public procurement.

With these promotions, which will take effect on 1 May, the firm will now have a total of 22 partners and 12 counsels in Spain.
