KWM promotes Félix Hernández as new financial and banking partner

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has promoted Félix Hernández, a lawyer with more than 16 years of experience in the Financial and Banking Law team, to partner. Félix, who had been appointed counsel of the firm at the beginning of 2023, specializes in advising all types of financial institutions, private equity funds and real estate funds.

“This appointment is a clear commitment of KWM to growth, especially in the area of Banking & Finance, a practice that in recent years has become a key part of the Firm’s strategy, increasing its number of clients and lawyers”, explained in a statement from the firm. The Madrid office of KWM now has 13 partners, 6 counsels and a staff of about 90 professionals.

Felix has extensive experience in structuring and implementing sophisticated financing transactions, including, among others, acquisition finance, project finance, real estate finance, restructurings and both domestic and multi-jurisdictional corporate financings. He has also advised special situations funds in the evaluation of distressed debt investment opportunities and in the design and execution of various restructuring strategies, as well as in the purchase and sale of loan portfolios.
Growth of close to 26%.

KWM Spain revenue: 18 million euros

Félix Hernández’s appointment coincides with the closing of an outstanding year for KWM in Spain. The firm closed 2023 with a turnover exceeding 18 million euros, which represents a growth of nearly 26%.
In addition to its extensive track record in advising on structuring private equity and venture capital funds, KWM Madrid has strengthened its position in recent years as one of the leading law firms in Spain in M&A, especially in the energy sector, private equity investments and divestments and secondary transactions.
