KWM advises on the structuring of Creand Asset Management first fund of funds

King & Wood Mallesons has advised Creand Asset Management (“Creand”) on the structuring of Creand Select Private Equity, its first fund of funds, which has a target size of €50 million and is mainly aimed at investing in private equity and venture capital funds.

Creand Select Private Equity is made up of two Spanish investment vehicles: a Fondo de Capital Riesgo (FCR) and a Sociedad de Capital Riesgo (SCR). The new fund is expected to participate in the most traditional sectors of the economy, although part of its investments will be allocated to funds focused on new trends in the health sector, advanced therapies, and digital technology, mainly in European countries and the US.

Isabel Rodríguez, partner and head of KWM’s funds team in Spain, has been in charge of coordinating the work of this project, in which the counsel María de Orueta and the associate Enrique Torné also play a key role. Other lawyers involved in the deal are Enrique Aparicio and Paolo Caretta.
