Cuatrecasas has appointed Jesús Ortega as its new global compliance director

Cuatrecasas has hired Jesús Ortega as global compliance director, with more than 20 years of professional experience as head of legal counsel and compliance director of big companies. He joins from Aqualia, where he held the position of chief compliance officer.

Jesús Ortega holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and a degree in Journalism from the Carlos III University of Madrid. He has taken several postgraduate courses, including one on Compliance at the UC3M. He comes to the firm with the aim of implementing a comprehensive compliance system that covers the prevention of money laundering, conflict check, data protection and corporate and audit compliance.

He has more than 20 years of professional experience in various companies, and has extensive experience as a member of Boards of Directors and Compliance Committees, Diversity and Inclusion Committees and Management Committees. She joins Cuatrecasas from Aqualia, where she has worked since 2007, and is currently chief compliance officer.

His arrival strengthens Cuatrecasas’ Legal & Compliance Area, which, led by Carlos Gallego, has expertise in ethics and professional conduct, conflicts, regulatory compliance and internal legal advice.
