Cuatrecasas advises on the acquisition of Cárnicas de La Litera
Cuatrecasas has advised Grupo Empresarial Costa on the acquisition of Cárnicas de La Litera, a company that owns a slaughterhouse in San Esteban de Litera (Huesca) with a surface area of around 8,000 m2 and a capacity of 625 tons per day. The operation will help the Costa Group to close its production circle and strengthen its leading position in the European meat market.
Present for 50 years in the agri-food sector, the Aragonese company Grupo Costa, through its meat holding company Costa Food Group, has become the third largest livestock producer in Europe, operating today in more than 100 countries.
Committed to the environment, it generates some 5,000 jobs and has an annual turnover of 2,000 million euros. In addition to operating in the meat market, its main area of activity, it also has a presence in sectors such as the wine, automotive and hotel industries.
The Cuatrecasas team in charge of the advisory services was formed by Antonio García Lapuente and Ignacio Liria Jordá, partner and associate of the commercial and M&A practice in the Zaragoza office.
