Bernardo del Rosal Blasco
Bernardo del Rosal Blasco began his professional career as a university academic after graduating in law from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1978 and obtaining his doctorate in law in 1986. In 1987 he obtained the position of Professor of Criminal Law at the same university and in 1991 he obtained the position of Professor of the same subject at the University of Alicante where he was Dean of the Faculty of Law from 1993 to 1995 and Director of the Institute of Criminology from 1996 to 2000.
His academic career has been combined with the position of Alternate Magistrate in the Provincial Courts of Madrid and Alicante between 1987 and 1994.
In 1994 he was appointed Customer Ombudsman of the Valencian Savings Banks, a position in which he remained until he was appointed Síndico de Agravios (Ombudsman) in 2001.
On April 4, 2001 he was appointed by the Valencian Parliament as Síndico de Agravios de la Comunidad Valenciana (Ombudsman of the Valencian Community). He held this position until the end of his term of office on April 9, 2006. Currently, he continues to hold the chair of Criminal Law at the University of Alicante and is a practicing lawyer with extensive experience in the field of economic criminal law, business and public administration.
