BDO Abogados incorporates Mario Chaparro as director of sports law
BDO Abogados has appointed Mario Chaparro as the new head of the sports law practice, led by Álvaro Marco, managing partner of the Madrid office. Before joining BDO, Mario Chaparro was head of sports law at LaLiga.

Prior to joining BDO, Mario Chaparro has been the head of sports law at LaLiga, where he has focused his practice on sports discipline, club management, arbitration, contracting and analysis of national and international sports regulations, among other matters. With more than 14 years of experience, Mario has held other sports-related positions such as secretary of the Social Disciplinary Judge, the Economic Control Committee and the LaLiga Football Arbitration Court.

Mario Chaparro’s appointment is a boost for the firm’s sports law area, which since its creation 10 years ago, has advised on various processes of acquisition and sale of soccer clubs. Currently, BDO Abogados provides services to professional leagues, sports institutions, clubs and SADs, agents, professional athletes and companies related to eSports, which has consolidated its position as one of the most recognized law firms in the sector in recent years.
