Baker McKenzie reelects Rodrigo Ogea as co-managing partner
Baker McKenzie, a leading global law firm, has reelected Rodrigo Ogea as co-managing partner of Baker McKenzie in Spain effective October 1, 2023, a position he has held since 2017. Rodrigo will continue his work alongside Bruno Domínguez, co-managing partner of the firm.
For Rodrigo, “it is a great satisfaction to once again have the confidence of the Firm, which with this decision validates the strategy developed in recent years in the Spanish market, which has allowed us to deepen our leadership position among international law firms operating in Spain.”
The election process involved both the partners and the heads of the different areas of in-house professional services, as well as members of the global Executive Committee.
Rodrigo specializes in tax advice to funds, family groups and large companies on mergers and acquisitions, international restructurings, fund structuring (private equity, real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy) and structured finance transactions (project finance, asset finance and securitization). He is recognized by the main legal directories as one of the most prestigious tax lawyers.
He is a trustee of the Fundación Impuestos y Competitividad, member of the tax committees of the CEOE, the International Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Spain and the American Business Council. He has also been the Spanish representative in the European Union’s expert group for the elimination of tax obstacles in cross-border private equity investments.
Since 2020, he is one of the four elected members of Baker McKenzie’s EMEA Steering Committee.
Baker McKenzie was the first international law firm to operate in Spain (1965), where it has offices in Madrid and Barcelona and a team of more than 250 lawyers. Globally it has 74 offices in 45 jurisdictions.
