Pérez-Llorca incoporates new partner in New York

Pérez-Llorca has announced the addition of Felipe Nazar as a partner in its New York office. Specializing in international disputes, he joins the firm’s global international arbitration team to strengthen the Firm’s work in litigation matters in the Americas.

In words of Félix J. Montero, litigation and arbitration partner of Pérez-Llorca, “Felipe’s incorporation advances the firm’s international growth strategy. With his arrival, the firm strengthens a strategic area and reinforces the international arbitration practice and the link with Latin American clients”.

Nazar, who is admitted to practice in Chile and New York, has more than fifteen years of experience advising clients on investment planning, contract negotiation and dispute resolution at all stages.
Prior to joining Pérez-Llorca, Nazar developed his career in two top-tier international law firms in New York and Washington, D.C., and in one of the most prestigious firms in Chile. His experience covers a broad spectrum of commercial litigation and arbitration in areas such as post-merger and acquisition adjustments, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, engineering, construction, mining and public concessions. He also advises investors and states in investment arbitrations, particularly in sectors related to energy, infrastructure, insurance, pensions and financial services. Since 2023, he has been a member of the foreign arbitrators’ registry of the Medellín Chamber of Commerce’s Center for Conciliation, Arbitration and Amicable Composition.

This incorporation reinforces the global international arbitration team of Pérez-Llorca, one of the major strategic bets and one of the firm’s growth areas at the moment.

Composed of lawyers of different nationalities, this team has extensive experience in advising multinationals in arbitration in Europe, Latin America and Asia. Its members have participated in numerous arbitrations before the main international and national arbitration institutions such as ICC, ICSID, LCIA, CAM Santiago, Centro Internacional de Arbitraje de Madrid (CIAM), among others.

This incorporation is part of the development and expansion of Pérez-Llorca’s New York office, led by partner Javier Gómez, which in the coming months will double its space in the emblematic Seagram Building located on Park Avenue. The building, the work of architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, has been the office’s operational base since its opening in 2015.
