Clifford Chance advises on the acquisition of Ingeteam’s renewable services division

Clifford Chance has advised Renewable Energy Systems (RES), the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, on its agreement to acquire Ingeteam’s renewable services division, which monitors the daily operation of wind, solar, energy storage, biomass, green hydrogen and hydroelectric facilities globally.

Upon completion, RES will have 30 billion pounds sterling (35 billion euros) of assets under management, making it the largest renewable energy support services provider in the world, with c.35 GW of O&M services and asset management contracts. The company will employ 4,000 people and operate across 23 countries, while retaining its UK headquarters.

The cross-border Clifford Chance team advising on the transaction was led by Spanish corporate / M&A partner Luis Alonso, together with counsels Javier Hermosilla and Javier Olábarri and senior associate Javier Montañés, and assisted by associates Sara Selma, Josep Massana, Lucía Alegre and Jimena Garrote, with the support of Clifford Chance’s UK, US, France, Italy, Australia, Poland, Romania and Morocco offices.
