Ignacio Redondo, group general counsel of Caixabank, dies

Ignacio Redondo, group general counsel of Caixabank, has died at the age of 47, in a motorbike accident in Formentera.

At 47, Ignacio had one of the most promising careers in the legal and financial sector. Since 2010, he was Executive Director of the Legal Department of Caixabank and a member of the Board of Directors of Caixabank Wealth Management Luxembourg, Caixabank Pagos y Consumo (of which he was also Secretary of the Board) and Imagin, among others.

Ignacio was State Lawyer at the State Attorney’s Office in Madrid (2002-06), State Lawyer and Secretary of the Regional Economic Administrative Court of Catalonia between 2006 and 2007 and Secretary General and Secretary of the Board of the Telecommunications Market Commission between 2007 and 2010.

He has also been Associate Professor of Administrative Law at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (2008-11).
