Adolfo Mesquita Nunes is the new Vice-Chairman of Galp

Adolfo Mesquita Nunes is the new vice-chairman of Galp’s board of directors. Mesquita Nunes, who has been an independent director at Galp since April 2019, was reappointed to the board of directors at the general meeting last Wednesday, 3rd May. Adolfo Mesquita Nunes has been a partner at the prestigious boutique Gama Glória since 2016 and he remains at the firm where his practice includes a roster of domestic and international companies.

When asked about his new role at Galp, the lawyer said: “Being lead independent director and vice-chairman, after four years serving as independent director, is indeed an honour and a challenge that I embrace with enthusiasm.”

Galp is the largest oil and gas group in Portugal. Mesquita Nunes is now one step below Paula Amorim, who remains president (non-executive) of the business.
