Three Crowns signs Carmen Martinez to head Madrid office
Three Crowns has signed Carmen Martínez (pictured) to head the Madrid office, which will be the boutique’s third European office and fifth globally.
Martinez is an expert in commercial and investment arbitration under the rules of the leading arbitral institutions and in a variety of jurisdictions, with a particular focus on Latin America and Spain.
She is trained in both the civil and common law traditions and is admitted to practice in Madrid, New York, and England and Wales. She is a graduate of Columbia Law School, the College of Europe and the University of Murcia. Before becoming a partner at Three Crowns she worked at Covington & Burling and Debevoise & Plimpton.
“Returning to Spain feels very natural for me and my practice and I am delighted to be spearheading the establishment of the Madrid office for Three Crowns. Madrid is already a base of operations for leading arbitrators, lawyers and arbitral institutions, and offers unparalleled economic and cultural links with Latin America. This ideal confluence of factors will ensure that Madrid becomes a truly global hub for international arbitration,” says Carmen Martinez.
