Ramón y Cajal closes renewal of Canadian Solar’s €100m green note programme
Ramon y Cajal Abogados has advised Canadian Solar in connection with the renewal of a €100m guaranteed green note program filed with the MARF (a spanish multilateral trading facility).
The firm’s team was led by capital markets partner Carlos Lao including associates Carlos Jimeno Cacho and Jaime Signes-Costa Smith.
The note program is the only one registered in the MARF guaranteed by a canadian company listed on the Nasdaq. Bankinter Investment acted as sole lead arranger of the program and Bankinter will act as placement entity and paying agent of the “green bonds” that may be issued in accordance with the Green Financing Framework adopted by Canadian Solar and the Green Bond Principles published by the International Capital Market Association (ICMA). In addition, VGM Advisory acts as listing agent(asesor registrado) of Canadian Solar, WeirFoulds advised the company as to Canadian law and Kirkland & Ellis as to U.S. law.
