Linklaters advises CVC on the refinancing of its debt in Naturgy
Linklaters has advised CVC Capital Partners on the refinancing of its 1.6 billion debt in Naturgy.
The team in charge of this transaction had been partner Juan Barona, managing associate Javier Hernández and associate Francisco Ruiz, all of them part of the Linklaters Spain law firm.
CVC Capital Partners has agreed to refinance its €1.6 billion debt facility with which it financed the purchase of 20% of Naturgy. With this, it has managed to extend its stake in the electricity and gas company and the maturity of this liability from 2024 to 2027.
The private equity firm acquired this 20% stake in Naturgy in 2018, for which it paid €3.8 billion. Banco Santander, CaixaBank, Credit Agricole, Société Générale and Natixis were the banks coordinating this financing.
