GLTHDay is held in Madrid as an international epicentre

The Global LegalTech Hub Day (GLTHDay) was held in Madrid as an international epicentre with sold out attendance in person and more than 3,200 attendees from all continents in online format.

The Espacio Fundación Telefónica in Madrid has been the main stage and was consecrated as a space for cooperation and coopetition of the legal sector in which great experts and professionals of LegalTech at national and global level have been present.

After a warm welcome and a speech on the digital future of justice by Manuel Olmo, Secretary General for Innovation and Quality of the Public Service of the Ministry of Justice, Ferrán Sala, Director of vLex Europe and Vice President of GLTH, emphasised the future of the LegalTech industry, which currently has a global turnover of 21 billion dollars.

The first panel of GLTHDay 2022, ‘Change management as key to stakeholder collaboration’, was led by the Legal Director and General Counsel of Amazon, Ana Buitrago, and the head of Transformation and Innovation of Mutualidad de la Abogacía, Iván Jiménez, with Sara Molina, Senior Manager Legal Management Consulting at Deloitte, as moderator.

Another of the presentations revolved around the social movement that is occurring in the workplace and that also affects the legal sector: the so-called Great Resignation. Ignacio Escobar, Executive Director of Finsolutia, and Lola Conde, Corporate Legal Counsel of Banco Santander, took part in the debate.

Finally, the day concluded with a panel discussion on the metaverse where Joaquim Matinero, lawyer specialised in banking, finance and blockchain at Roca Junyent, was in charge of moderating the space.

“It is really impressive to see the entire legal community gathered here with the common goal of supporting legaltech. In the coming years, legaltech will be part of the solution to people’s problems around the world” said Laura Urquizu, President of the Global LegalTech Hub and CEO of Red Points.
