GA_P appoints Fernando Igartua as new partner for its New York office

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has appointed Fernando Igartua (pictured) as a new partner in its New York office. This office is focused on business development functions rather than the practice of local law, advising clients on spanish, portuguese and european union regulatory matters.

GA_P’s new partner in New York holds a law degree with a specialisation in economic law from the University of Deusto and a PhD in law from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In the teaching field, he is a full professor of civil law. He is also founder and honorary president of the Instituto de Consejeros-Administradores.

Igartua specialises in structured and project finance, takeover bids, insurance, new technology law, regulation of financial institutions and corporate governance.

The GA_P’s New York office is one of four that the firm has outside Spain, the others are in London, Brussels and Lisbon.
