Cuatrecasas: Agustín Cerdá to head Levante corporate and finance practice area
Cuatrecasas has appointed Agustín Cerdá (pictured) as partner in charge of the Corporate and Finance practice in the Levante region, which includes the Valencia and Murcia regions.
Cerdá is a specialist in financing transactions, both through syndicated and bilateral facilities (acquisition finance in leveraged buyouts, corporate and structured financing), financial restructuring of distressed companies, asset financing and project finance transactions in Spain, Latin America and US.
Agustín Cerdá also advises on project and corporate financing with an international component, particularly transactions involving Latin America, where he has advised banks, companies and funds on designing, negotiating and implementing complex, multijurisdictional financing structures and security arrangements.
He worked as an international associate in the New York office of major American law firm Chadbourne & Parke (2007-2008) and as a project attorney in the Washington D.C. headquarters of the Interamerican Development Bank (2011).
He lectures on banking and finance in the Master in European Business Law at Universidad Pontificia Comillas-ICADE, and on the university’s commercial law practicum, and on project finance in the Expert in Quantitative Finance Program at Analistas Financieros Internacionales (AFI).
He speaks on project finance and debt restructuring at specialized centers, including AFI, iiR Spain, CEF Center for Financial Studies, and Universitat de València.
He is the author of articles on legal aspects of his area of expertise, published in national and international journals, including the World Securities Law Report, Project Finance International, Revista Española de Capital Riesgo and Revista de Derecho del Mercado de Valores.
