Javier Santos to start a new project

According to press rumors confirmed to Iberian Lawyer by the law firm Javier Santos (pictured), to date partner at DLA Piper, has left the law firm last September 30.

Santos wa head of the energy practice of the law firm in Spain and location head of the litigation and regulatory practice. He was also a member of the firm’s energy steering committee.

He has left DLA Piper after almost 17 years to undertake new projects that will allow him a better balance between his work and his personal life. Santos has more than 30 years of experience in private practice. Before joining DLA Piper, he worked at Cremades y Asociados and then Squire Sanders & Dempsey, a law firm that was absorbed by DLA Piper in 2005. Javier Santos represents investors in project finance matters in the energy sector, management buyout financing, mergers and acquisitions, privatisation, energy assignments and provides advice in numerous energy projects in Latin America, Africa, Middle East and East Europe. He has also gained notable experience in international arbitration deals in relation to gas supply contracts.
