Cuatrecasas on the acquisition of part of Babcock International’s emergency air services business

Cuatrecasas has advised Ancala Partners on the acquisition of part of Babcock International’s air services business.
Ancala Partners is a british fund specialised in infrastructure acquisitions. By this deal, it has agreed its second transaction in Spain after acquiring 49% of Ence’s energy subsidiary.

The transaction amounts to €136m and includes assets related to firefighting, air medical transport and rescue operations, as well as more than 232 aircraft available in 164 operational locations across Europe. It also includes Babcock’s activities in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Norway, Sweden and Finland.

The Cuatrecasas team advising Ancala was formed by the partners, Federico Roig (pictured right) and Andrew Ward (pictured left) together with the associate, Carlota Tojo.

To complete the transaction, Cuatrecasas worked with the british law firm, Travers Smith, which handled the english law issues. The completion of the deal is subject to certain regulatory and other conditions, and the transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
