Clifford Chance strengthens its Funds & Investment Management team with new partner

Clifford Chance has announced today the appointment of Ildelfonso Alier as partner in its Funds & Investment Management team. Ildefonso joins 32 partners across Clifford Chance’s offices in Spain, Luxembourg, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, who provide specialist advice to leading global and local fund managers in fund establishment, structuring and marketing as well as ongoing operational issues.

With over 18 years of experience, Ildefonso Alier specialises in the establishment and structuring of domestic and international private funds, including private equity, venture capital, infrastructure and real estate funds, funds of funds and debt funds, as well as in setting up and advising fund managers. In addition, he has extensive experience advising fund managers in secondary transactions, restructuring mandates and co-investments, as well as advising and negotiating the entry of investors in such funds.

Ildefonso has worked with the most renowned domestic and international fund managers, having participated in the most complex and relevant fundraisings and secondary transactions in the Spanish market over the last ten years.

Ildefonso joins Clifford Chance from King Wood Mallesons, where he was a partner in their Funds team since 2019.

Ildefonso holds a law degree with specialisation in finance from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid.
