Cuatrecasas advises Infinitas on the acquisition of LeYa
Cuatrecasas has advised the pan-European group Infinitas Learning on the acquisition of LeYa S.A., a publishing group that includes several Portuguese-language publishers and which manages operations in Portugal and Mozambique. The operations of LeYa Global (holding company of the LeYa Group) in Brazil and Angola were not included in this agreement.
Infinitas Learning is a leading publisher offering digital and paper-based educational solutions in the Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden, reaching more than five million students with its products and services, from primary to higher education.
The operation involved an interdisciplinary team of lawyers led by Mariana Norton dos Reis, coordinating partner of the Corporate and M&A area at Cuatrecasas, with the support of Marta Pereira da Silva and Francisco Martins Caetano, consultant and senior associate in the same area, and which involved specialists in the areas of Banking & Finance, Competition Law, Intellectual Property and TMT, Insurance, Labour, Tax and Compliance.
The acquisition of LeYa is an important step towards the expansion of Infinitas Learning’s technology hub in Portugal.
